Absolutely! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancy as long as they have their doctor's approval. Exercise during pregnancy has proven to be highly beneficial by helping improve cardiovascular fitness, circulation and biomechanics, energy levels, self-esteem and recovery time. Instructors are certified pre- and postnatal fitness instructors and follow guidelines set by the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). We can modify any exercise that poses a challenge as you progress through your pregnancy. FIT4MOM® does require a doctor’s approval prior to beginning Stroller Strides® or Stroller Barre®.

In cases of rain or extreme heat or cold, we will move class to one of our indoor locations. Follow us on Facebook and check for updates an hour before class starts. If you sign into class, we also send notifications via email or text message.
No. Stroller Strides® and Stroller Barre® are for all fitness levels. You are welcome to run, walk, or do a bit of both. You choose your pace.

As a general guideline, when your baby can hold her/his head up, they can ride in a jogger. Before then, infants ride in their carseat which may be attached to your stroller with a manufacturer approved adapter. Check manufacturer guidelines for your stroller, carseat and adapter.
We get it! This is a concern of many mamas, and we want to put your mind at ease. Our classes are designed to keep little ones moving and entertained by incorporating songs, toys, bubbles, etc. Of course, if you need to change your baby, nurse or console them, please feel free to do so. You also are welcome to bring a baby carrier and wear your baby during the workout with appropriate modifications. We are all moms, we are in this together, and we understand that kids will have good and bad days. Most often, kiddos quickly understand that we are full of fun and are excited to visit with friends, sing with our instructors, and watch their mama have a great time.
Babies and kids can join you at Stroller Strides® and Stroller Barre® at any age as long as they can still safely be buckled in the stroller. We recommend waiting until you have medical clearance from your physician, usually around your six-week postpartum appointment. FIT4MOM® does require a doctor’s approval prior to beginning Stroller Strides® or Stroller Barre®.
We’ve got you, mama! If you're in the middle of class and need to change, nurse or console your baby, please do so. Your instructor will provide you with comfort and direction.
Safety is our first priority, so we do not allow kids to be out of the stroller during class, regardless of age.
Yes. It's not uncommon for mothers to come to class without a stroller or child in tow. However, if you plan to not bring your child on a regular basis, you may want to check out our Body Back classes which are just for moms and with no children or strollers. Body Back is entirely focused on you!
Visitors are welcome to come to their first class for free and may always join class for free on Saturdays and holidays. If you have an extended stay guest who would like to participate longer than one week, they are welcome to join us at the drop-in class rate. We ask that all visitors sign our waiver before participating.
Sometimes coming to class doesn't work for you anymore. We get it. Life happens, which is why there are no penalties for canceling. But we'll miss you! If you think it's time to bid our village adieu, just let us know. And, of course, always feel free to tell us what we can do to make FIT4MOM SF Peninsula work for you.
Our Body Back program is designed to focus entirely on you, mama! Therefore, children do not attend Body Back classes in strollers or otherwise. If you would like to bring children to class in a stroller, check out our Stroller Strides or Stroller Barre classes.
Body Back is our highest intensity program. For the safety of you and baby, pregnant mothers may not participate in Body Back drop-in classes or our Body Back Transformation sessions. Body Back classes are high-intensity interval training (HIIT) full-body workouts and contain a combination of cardio and strength elements. Classes may be held indoors at studio spaces or outdoors at community parks. Body Back is often performed in circuits and uses a variety of exercise gear such as free weights and medicine balls that are provided by the instructors. Our 6- or 8-week Body Back Transformation programs also include meditations, nutrition coaching and before/after body assessments.
No. Body Back workouts are designed to challenge any fitness level. Not feeling like the strongest person in class on Day 1? Body Back is an environment where transformations happen. Set yourself goals and watch as you grow in muscle tone, coordination and confidence. Climb that mountain, mama!

Fit4Baby prenatal workouts are designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy. Instructors follow guidelines set by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and are Fit4Baby certified to lead classes that are safe and appropriate for each trimester and fitness level. Workouts include intervals of cardiovascular exercise, strength training and stretching. Classes end with a relaxing meditation focused on connecting you with your baby, tapping your inner and outer strength, and recognizing the exciting changes in your body and your life.
